Why do cats poop randomly?
There are several reasons why cats poop randomly. First, the cat might not recognize the location of the litter box; second, the litter box might be too dirty, and the owner can change the litter and clean the litter box; third, the cat may have a stress response due to various factors, such as being scared or changing environments; and fourth, there may be pathological reasons, such as illness, parasite infection, or gastrointestinal diseases. When the cat is uncomfortable, it cannot control its bowel movements.
When a cat suddenly starts pooping randomly
A sudden change in a cat's behavior, such as being scared, stimulated by shouting and beating, environmental changes like moving, some intestinal diseases, or a litter box with insufficient litter or long-term uncleaned litter, can cause the cat to poop randomly. If it is caused by stress, the cat can be given comfort and supplemented with vitamin-based nutritional supplements. Keep the litter box clean and replenish the litter. For diseases, it is recommended to send the cat to a pet hospital for examination.
Cleaning the litter box
First, wash the dirty litter box with clean water. After waiting for a few minutes for the dirt to be completely soaked, use a specialized brush to clean it thoroughly. Then, spray with a pet-specific disinfectant and wait for about ten minutes before rinsing it completely, drying it in the sun. The litter box should be cleaned and disinfected whenever it is completely changed to prevent the growth of bacteria and parasites, reducing the risk of skin diseases.
How to train a cat that poops randomly
Cats usually poop in their litter box, but if they start pooping randomly, the owner can catch the cat and scold it loudly, making the cat aware that this is wrong. Then put the cat in the litter box so it understands that pooping there is the correct behavior. The owner should also keep the litter box clean and replace the litter regularly.
