Why is the blue cat crying?

Tearfulness in cats may be caused by reasons such as irritation of the eyes, trichiasis, conjunctivitis, and keratitis. First, if the eyes are stimulated by dust or cat hair, tearfulness is a normal phenomenon and there is generally no need to worry too much. Secondly, if the tearfulness is abnormal and accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, such as red eyes, itching, etc., it is recommended that the owner take the cat to a regular hospital in time to diagnose and treat the cause. Otherwise, it is easy to affect the recovery of the eyes.

  1. Irritation of the eyes

If a cat has a lot of hair and does not deal with it in time, it may lead to the falling hair entering the eye area. Stimulated by dust, it can cause excessive tear production, leading to tearfulness. This can be washed away with running water and generally does not require medical treatment.

  1. Trichiasis

This mainly refers to the growth of eyelashes inside the eye, which stimulates the conjunctiva and causes tearfulness. It is often accompanied by eyelid spasm and eye pain. Under the guidance of a doctor, tweezers can be used to remove the eyelashes or trim long eyelashes to reduce damage to the eyes.

  1. Conjunctivitis

The cause of conjunctivitis includes bacterial and viral infections. Symptoms include increased secretions and itching of the eyes. Without timely treatment, the bacteria and viruses in the body will increase in infectivity, damage the conjunctiva, and cause increased tear production. Antibiotics and antiviral drugs are needed under the guidance of a doctor.

  1. Keratitis

Keratitis is thought to be caused by vitamin deficiency and eye infection, which can lead to corneal damage, photophobia, tearfulness, and eye swelling and pain. If not treated correctly, the disease will worsen. It is necessary to follow the doctor's advice to take vitamin and antibiotic supplements to improve the condition.
