Why is my Teddy dog not eating?

Teddy dogs usually refer to Teddy dogs, and the reasons why they refuse to eat may include a single diet, estrus period, low exercise, indigestion, anxiety, gastric ulcers, and infection with the parvovirus. If the refusal to eat is caused by a single diet, estrus period, and low exercise, it is a normal physiological phenomenon, and owners do not need to worry too much. If there are other symptoms accompanied by the refusal to eat, such as vomiting and excessive nervousness, it is recommended that the owner take the Teddy dog to the hospital for treatment in a timely manner.

  1. Single diet

If the diet is relatively单一, it can lead to picky eating and reduced appetite, affecting normal eating. Without timely improvement, the dog may refuse to eat. It is necessary to adjust the eating habits and feed the Teddy dog with dog food and chicken breast meat.

  1. Estrus period

During the estrus period, the dog's hormone secretion changes, affecting normal appetite and causing a decrease in appetite. Once the estrus period passes, appetite will return to normal.

  1. Low exercise

If the Teddy dog lies down or sleeps after eating, it will affect the normal digestion of food, causing no hunger and refusing to eat. It is recommended to take the Teddy dog for a walk or run after eating to promote digestion and increase appetite.

  1. Indigestion

Usually caused by long-term overeating and gastrointestinal motility disorders, it can lead to delayed gastric emptying, affecting normal food intake, and causing adverse reactions such as refusing to eat and vomiting. It is necessary to take digestive enzymes according to the doctor's advice.

  1. Anxiety

Mainly caused by genetics and neurochemical abnormalities, when the Teddy dog is scared, it may cause seizures and fear of eating, leading to panic reactions and refusing to eat. Psychological counseling is needed to improve this.

  1. Gastric ulcers

Caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, it can cause severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Eating can stimulate the gastric mucosa, causing increased pain and reducing appetite. Medical treatment to protect the gastric mucosa should be followed according to the doctor's advice.

  1. Parvovirus infection

If the body is infected with the parvovirus, symptoms such as coughing up yellow phlegm and diarrhea will appear. As the virus multiplies within the body, it may attack the gastrointestinal function, causing damage to the digestive system and affecting normal digestion, leading to a loss of appetite. Antiviral medication should be taken according to the doctor's advice.

When a Teddy dog refuses to eat, it should be taken seriously. If the dog doesn't eat for a long time, it is recommended that the owner take it to a local regular pet hospital for examination to identify the cause and actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment, which is beneficial to controlling the disease.
