Diarrhea in dogs but good spirits
Diarrhea clinically refers to diarrhea, and diarrhea in dogs with good spirits may be caused by abdominal cold, improper diet, and gastritis. If the diarrhea is caused by abdominal cold and improper diet, and the mental state is relatively good, it belongs to a normal physiological phenomenon and there is generally no need to worry too much. If the diarrhea is abnormal and there are other uncomfortable symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, it is recommended that the owner take the dog to a regular hospital in time for a gastrointestinal examination to identify the cause and further treat it.
- Abdominal cold
If the weather is relatively cold and proper abdominal warmth measures are not taken for the dog, it may lead to the invasion of cold air into the abdomen, causing symptoms such as increased bowel movements and mild abdominal pain. This belongs to a normal phenomenon and it is necessary to take timely measures to keep the dog warm. Drinking more warm water can also help alleviate the discomfort in the abdomen.
- Improper diet
If the dog accidentally eats too oily food, it may cause stimulation to the gastrointestinal tract, affecting the normal digestion of food, and causing symptoms such as diarrhea and abdominal pain. It is necessary to adjust the diet and avoid giving the dog too oily food. Instead, foods that are easy to digest, such as dog food and canned food, can be fed more. Generally, there is no need for medication treatment.
- Gastritis
Gastritis is an acute infectious disease that may be caused by infection with various pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Symptoms include vomiting, abdominal discomfort, watery stools, nausea, and decreased appetite. As the disease progresses, there may be symptoms such as flatulence and fecal odor. In severe cases, there may be mucopurulent stools. Treatment usually involves taking antibiotics, antifungal, and antiviral medications according to the doctor's advice, which is beneficial for the improvement of the disease.
