Dog has diarrhea and normal stool alternately
There are many causes for a dog to have diarrhea and then normal stool alternately, such as unclean diet, indigestion, stress response, bacterial enteritis, and parasite infection. Among them, indigestion can be improved at home through food adjustment, along with feeding some digestive enzymes. For other causes of the above symptoms, it is recommended to seek medical attention in a timely manner.
Firstly, consider unclean diet. This could be due to the dog's caregiver not paying attention to cleaning the dog's equipment or the dog picking up food everywhere outside. If it only causes mild gastrointestinal reactions, it is recommended to feed the dog easily digestible food and, if necessary, some anti-infective drugs. If it induces more severe poisoning reactions, such as violent vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and weakness, medical attention should be sought promptly.
Secondly, consider indigestion. The main causes of indigestion are feeding the dog a large amount of food at once or giving it food that is difficult to digest. It is recommended to feed the dog drugs that promote digestion and feed it easily digestible food after its symptoms improve.
Next, consider stress response. Stress responses mainly occur after vaccination or when a young dog has just been brought home. This type of response is unique and requires the owner to strengthen care and provide necessary symptomatic treatment.
Then, consider bacterial enteritis. Bacterial enteritis often occurs as a complication of digestive system diseases caused by food. The main symptoms are vomiting and diarrhea. It is recommended to feed the dog drugs containing ingredients such as neomycin, along with the use of pet-specific intestinal regulators like kaolin.
Finally, consider parasite infection. When a parasite infection is mild or becoming severe, the above symptoms may occur. It is recommended to bring the dog to a pet hospital for fecal examination and then use relevant deworming drugs.
