Dog's eyes can't see anything
There are many reasons for dogs to lose vision, such as eye diseases, such as cataracts, glaucoma, etc., causing blindness in dogs. In addition, dogs with brain tumors, compression of nerves, and secondary cataracts caused by certain endocrine diseases can also affect their vision. You can take the dog to a pet hospital for a comprehensive examination, observe whether there is bleeding, swelling, and infection in the eyes, and if so, treat them with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory eye drops.
Causes of Blindness
Usually, the causes of blindness in dogs include the following aspects: eye diseases, such as when the dog has cataracts and the lens cannot transmit light, which affects vision. It may also be caused by other diseases, such as diabetes-induced cataracts and brain tumor lesions.
Symptoms of Blindness
When a dog's eyes cannot see, there are significant changes in the structure and shape of the eyes, and they look different from normal eyes. When the dog is moving, it cannot avoid obstacles and often bumps into things. The dog's response to hearing sounds is slower, and it needs to be repeated before it can determine the location of the sound.
Treatment for Blindness
When a dog's eyes cannot see or open, it indicates a severe eye problem. If the eyes are secreting a lot due to trauma, bacterial or viral infection, and the upper and lower eyelids are stuck together, you can use a cotton swab or a hot towel dipped in saline to clean the secretions and slowly separate the eyelids. Drop red yeast rice eye drops or Tobradex eye drops into the eyes, 3-4 times a day for two to three days. If there is improvement, continue using it. If there is no change or worsening, please consult a doctor in time for examination and effective treatment.
