Dog's eyes cannot open after taking a bath

It may be due to the shampoo entering the dog's eyes during bathing. Rinse the dog's eyes with cool boiled water or physiological saline solution 2-3 times, and then wait for 30 minutes to see if there is any change in the dog's eye congestion. If there is no significant improvement, the dog will need to drop eye drops for 2 days.

Dog Bathing Frequency

It is recommended to bathe dogs in spring and summer, preferably every 7-10 days; and in autumn and winter, bathing every 15-20 days is appropriate. Over-frequency of dog bathing may damage the protective film on the dog's skin surface, which is harmful to the dog's health; too little may cause parasites to infest the dog's body and produce a strong body odor.

Dog Bathing Water Temperature

  1. The water temperature for bathing dogs should be between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius.
  2. The water level in the bathtub or basin should be 5 to 10 centimeters deep, and a non-slip mat should be placed in the bathtub to prevent the dog from slipping.
  3. First, wet the dog with a small amount of warm water, avoiding suddenly pouring water on its head.
  4. Insert a cotton ball into the dog's ear before bathing.

Points to Note When Bathing Dogs

Shampoo: Use dog-specific shampoo; never use human personal care products for dog bathing. Water Temperature: Neither too hot nor too cold, as both are harmful to the dog's health. Also, take good care of warmth to prevent the dog from catching a cold. Dry the Hair: After bathing the dog, dry its hair thoroughly to prevent bacterial proliferation and skin diseases. Care: Use a cotton swab to wipe the water in the ear canal clean, preventing moisture from breeding ear mites.
