What are the dangers of durian to cats?

Durian does not pose any obvious harm to cats, but some cats are sensitive to the smell of durian, and may experience vomiting or fainting after smelling it. Secondly, if a cat consumes too much durian, it may cause the cat to become hot, constipated, or have diarrhea. Therefore, if a cat has a strong reaction to the smell of durian, it is best not to feed it to avoid causing the cat discomfort.

  1. Vomiting

Cats have very sensitive senses of smell, and the stimulating smell of durian is quite strong. Therefore, some cats may experience vomiting or fainting just like humans, but they usually recover within a short period of time.

  1. Heatstroke

Durian is rich in nutrition, but excessive consumption can cause cats to become overheated, and in severe cases, can even lead to constipation and other symptoms. Moreover, the seed of the durian fruit contains cyanide, and if a cat accidentally eats it, it may suffer from poisoning.

  1. Diarrhea

Some cats have weaker digestive systems, especially young cats whose digestive systems are not yet fully developed. If they are given durian too early or eat too much durian at once, it can cause diarrhea.
