Feline Jaundice Symptoms

The main symptoms of feline jaundice are as follows: decreased appetite, lethargy, yellow skin, dark urine, increased body temperature, yellowing of the conjunctiva, nasal mucosa, oral mucosa, and other visible mucous membranes. If not treated in time, in the later stages of the disease, the cat's entire body skin and hair may turn yellow, and severe dehydration may occur. It is recommended that owners take their cats to a pet hospital for inspection as soon as they notice the above symptoms, and conduct corresponding treatments after diagnosis.

If a cat develops jaundice, it usually manifests as yellowing of the skin and mucous membranes, especially the ear and nipple areas. As the disease progresses, the symptoms will gradually worsen.

  1. Mild Jaundice Symptoms

When a cat has mild jaundice, there are usually no obvious changes. The cat may show symptoms such as loss of appetite, dark urine, lethargy, and other subtle changes, which are difficult for the owner to detect.

  1. Moderate Jaundice Symptoms

When a cat has moderate jaundice, the skin begins to turn yellow. At the same time, the cat will also be accompanied by symptoms such as loss of appetite, lethargy, and reluctance to move.

  1. Severe Jaundice Symptoms

When a cat has severe jaundice, the entire mucous membrane turns yellow, and even the pupil color may change due to jaundice. In addition, the cat will also exhibit symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and unconsciousness.
