What vaccines does a golden retriever need?
Golden retrievers need to be injected with vaccines to prevent various diseases, including rabies. Currently on the market, there are vaccines such as Weijia, Intervet, Merial, and Xibeiduo, among others. However, it is not recommended to use domestically produced vaccines, as they have poor efficacy in preventing infectious diseases and rabies vaccines are more likely to cause allergies.
Immunization schedule for vaccines:
The vaccine developed by Tevra is mainly aimed at young dogs and includes Puppy Protect, which is effective in preventing distemper and parvovirus. Although it covers a limited number of diseases, its potency is high. A complete immunization program usually consists of four injections. Two injections of Puppy Protect, followed by two injections of either a four-valent or six-valent vaccine, and finally a rabies vaccine.
The main vaccines available are Weijia伍 and Weijia捌, which require only three injections of four needles each. Both vaccines include three doses of disease prevention and one dose of rabies.
Xibeiduo also requires three injections, with an immunization schedule similar to Weijia.
For domestically produced vaccines, it is recommended to inject three doses of disease prevention vaccines and two doses of rabies vaccines.
Precautions:
Dogs should be fully healthy before receiving vaccines, and they should not be bathed for a week after the injection. It is best to wash the dog yourself at home until all the vaccines have been administered, to minimize contact with external sources and prevent virus infection.
Avoid long-distance transportation and intense exercise, as these activities may cause stress reactions.
