How to clean ear mites in cat's ears

Cat ear mites can be cleaned by using ear drops containing compound nystatin. Before using the ear drops, wash the cat's ears with ear wash first, then wait for the cat to shake out the dirt from the ears and dry them. After drying, drop the ear drops for treating ear mites into the cat's ears. In addition, it is recommended to regularly deworm the cat, as regular deworming can also treat and prevent ear mites.

When a cat has ear mites, first use a pet-specific ear wash to clean the cat's ear canal. After cleaning and drying, drop the medicine for treating ear mites into the cat's ears. The cleaning process can be done following these steps:

Secure the cat using a blanket or with assistance, then use a medical cotton swab dipped in the cat-specific ear wash to clean the cat's outer ear canal. After cleaning, use a clean medical cotton swab to wipe the outer ear canal dry.
Clean the ear canal thoroughly, then drop the ear wash into the cat's ears until you can see the liquid level. Gently massage the cat's ear root for a few minutes to allow the cat to shake out the dirt from the ear canal, and then use a cotton swab to clean the discharged earwax.
After cleaning and drying the cat's ear canal, drop the medicine for treating ear mites into the cat's ears and massage the ear root. You can also administer a deworming drug containing selamectin to the cat.

Note: During the treatment, make sure to continuously administer the medicine to the cat, and continue cleaning the ear canal even after recovery. The cat should wear an Elizabeth collar to prevent scratching or licking the medicine. Additionally, if you have other pets at home, it is recommended to isolate the sick cat for feeding to avoid contact infection.
