How to Prevent Dog Eczema
Dog eczema can be prevented from four aspects: bathing, disinfection, parasite control, and diet.
- Bathing
After bathing your dog, make sure to thoroughly dry its fur with a hair dryer to keep it dry and prevent moisture. If the fur is not dried promptly, it容易滋生细菌,从而导致湿疹。
- Disinfection
When disinfecting your dog's living environment, it is best to use pet-specific disinfectant products to keep the environment clean, hygienic, and dry. Moisture can easily lead to bacterial proliferation and skin allergies, causing eczema. After disinfection, you can also expose your dog's belongings to sunlight. On sunny days, take your dog outside for some sun exposure to supplement calcium and improve its immunity.
- Parasite Control
Regularly treating your dog for parasites can prevent skin allergies caused by parasite infections. It is generally recommended to perform external parasite control once a month and internal parasite control every three months.
- Diet
It is advisable not to feed your dog food containing excessive carbohydrates, especially since human cuisine often contains seasonings like soy sauce and salt, which can not only make your dog more susceptible to eczema but also cause liver and kidney problems. Also, avoid feeding your dog chicken, beef, and mutton, as these meats contain high amounts of protein that can easily trigger eczema relapses.
Note: You can appropriately supplement your dog with vitamins and other trace elements to improve its immune system and reduce the occurrence of skin diseases.
