How do cats express their desire to poop?
When a cat wants to poop, they may run around the house looking for the litter box. Before pooping, they will start smelling the litter and using their front paws to scoop it up. After scooping the litter, they will assume a semi-squatting position and defecate. If the cat cannot find the litter box, they may meow at their owner to attract their attention. When a cat exhibits similar actions or defecates or urinates, it is not advisable for the owner to observe closely, as this may cause the cat to feel tense.

When a cat wants to poop, they will start running around the house looking for the litter box. If a litter box is available, the cat will usually go to it on their own and start smelling the litter and using their front paws to scoop it up before defecating. If they cannot find the litter box, they may perform the action of digging in the litter on the ground.
- Assuming a semi-squatting position
When a cat wants to poop, they will also assume a semi-squatting position, with their buttocks lowered in preparation for defecation. If the cat is not in a litter box, it is recommended that the owner quickly place the cat in the litter box so they can develop the habit of pooping in it.
- Meowing
Some cats, when they want to poop and cannot find the litter box, will meow to remind their owner that they need to go to the bathroom. For young cats who want to defecate, they will stand still and hold their tail high. The owner just needs to put the cat in the litter box, and they will poop on their own.
