Signs of ear mites in kittens

Ear mites in kittens are mainly characterized by a large amount of dark brown smelly earwax in the ear canal, itching and scratching of the ear. To prevent the kitten from scratching its ears and causing damage, you can put an Elizabethan collar on it. Clean the earwax with cotton tips dipped in ear oil regularly, and drop ear mite medicine into the ear. This can be continued for a few days. It is recommended to supplement the kitten's nutrition during treatment to enhance its constitution and improve its resistance. The house should be disinfected frequently to prevent ear mite residues.

Why do kittens get ear mites?

Ear mites in cats are a highly contagious parasitic disease caused by ear itch mites and ear mange mites living in the cat's ear canals. Besides being contagious, not paying attention to the health care of cats, often not cleaning the cat's ear canal, can also easily lead to the growth of ear mites in cats. Additionally, water entering the ear canal after bathing and not being cleaned promptly, long-term dampness can easily infect ear mites.

Symptoms of ear mites in kittens

When kittens have ear mites, they will often scratch their ears, accompanied by a lot of black secretions. If the owner cleans the cat's ears, they can buy an ear cleaner and drop a few drops into the cat's ear canal, massaging the ear flap to make the cleaner thoroughly soak the ear canal. Then use a cotton tip to remove the black secretions and drop ear mite medicine such as Ear Foaming Agent. That's it. Use it once a day in the beginning, for about a week. Once the condition improves, you can reduce it to once every three days.

How to clean ear mites in kittens

Cleaning ear mites usually requires two people: one to hold the kitten still and the other to clean and apply the medicine. The steps are as follows: One person holds the cat, while the other person fixes the ear and pours the ear cleaner into the ear canal, gently rubbing the ear root. Allow the kitten to shake its head to remove the contents of the ear canal. Moisten a cotton tip with the ear cleaner and scoop out the secretions along the ear canal. Repeat these steps until the cotton tip is clean, then use a large amount of love for deworming, dropping 1-2 drops into each ear. Ear cleaning requires 1-2 times a day, and large amounts of love once a week, with a three-week course.
