Kitten only urinates after drinking goat milk without defecating

A kitten that only urinates after drinking goat milk without defecating may have diarrhea due to excessive feeding or too thick goat milk, causing indigestion. Secondly, it may be because the kitten's anus lacks stimulation, so it cannot defecate autonomously. Additionally, if there are hardened feces blocking the kitten's anus, the kitten will also not defecate. Therefore, owners must pay attention that if the kitten's lack of defecation has continued for a period of time and there is a noticeable bulge in the abdomen, it is necessary to seek medical attention promptly.

  1. Indigestion

Due to the kitten's young age and incomplete intestinal function, its digestion is not very strong. If the owner feeds the kitten too much goat milk at once or prepares it too thick, it will lead to indigestion and the kitten will only urinate without defecating. To this end, it is recommended to adjust the proportion of goat milk and control the amount of each meal. It is advised to feed in small portions to facilitate digestion and absorption.

  1. Lack of Stimulation

Because the kitten's excretory system is not yet perfect, it cannot defecate autonomously, so artificial feeding requires artificial stimulation. If there is a lack of stimulation, the feces will cause accumulation and fermentation in the kitten's body, producing toxic substances, and sometimes even carbon dioxide gas, causing bloating and even death. Therefore, when the kitten cannot defecate autonomously or has constipation, the owner can use clean and non-irritating wet wipes to wipe the kitten's anus, stimulating the anus to contract and defecate.

  1. Fecal Congealing Blocking Anus

If the owner has taken the above measures and the kitten still cannot defecate or only passes a little stool, with a noticeable bulge in the abdomen, the owner should take the kitten to a pet hospital for inspection to see if the fecal congealing is blocking the kitten's anus. If so, enemas or surgery may be required to resolve the issue.
