What symptoms will a kitten have after receiving the first dose of vaccine?

Usually, kittens do not show any abnormal symptoms after receiving the first dose of vaccine. However, sometimes they may experience acute allergies or mild adverse reactions. Acute allergic reactions can manifest as facial swelling, profuse crying, and redness of the conjunctiva, while mild adverse reactions mainly refer to loss of appetite and poor spirit.

The first dose of vaccine given to a kitten usually refers to an infectious disease vaccine. Since the production process of infectious disease vaccines is relatively mature, they generally do not cause allergies or adverse reactions. In individual cases, acute allergic reactions may occur due to the kitten's physical condition. The onset of acute allergic reactions usually occurs within 30 minutes and sometimes within a day. Clinical manifestations include rapid breathing, facial redness and swelling, profuse crying, and eye redness and swelling. If you find that your kitten is showing these abnormal symptoms, it is recommended to take it to the pet hospital in time for related desensitization treatment and observation for a period of time. This is why kittens need to be observed at the pet hospital for 20-30 minutes after receiving the vaccine.

In addition, some kittens may also experience mild adverse reactions, such as drowsiness, mild loss of appetite, and low fever. These symptoms can usually disappear within 1-2 days. If the kitten's symptoms do not improve but instead show abnormal symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, high fever, and coughing, it is recommended to take it to the pet hospital in time for further examination and treatment. After a kitten receives the first dose of vaccine, it is important to keep it warm and avoid letting it get cold during the vaccination period. At the same time, stress or severe shock should also be avoided to prevent the kitten's immune system from declining, affecting the immune effect of the vaccine, and even causing the kitten to become sick.
