Soft but formed stool in kittens

Soft but formed stool in kittens may be caused by improper diet, parasite infection, stress response, and other reasons. First, if the kitten eats spoiled cat food or cold foods, it can easily cause gastrointestinal problems and lead to soft stool. Secondly, if the kitten is infected with internal parasites, it will also have soft stool. As the parasites reproduce in the kitten's body, the soft stool may even turn into diarrhea. Lastly, the emotional state of the kitten also affects its stool, such as a kitten that has just been adopted at home, which may have stress reactions and thus cause soft stool.

  1. Improper diet

Kittens generally have fragile stomachs. If they eat cold or spoiled foods, or suddenly change their diet, it can cause gastrointestinal discomfort and lead to soft stools. In this case, you can give the kitten oral probiotics to regulate their stomach, and if you need to change their diet, follow the gradual approach.

  1. Parasite infection

Kittens over three months old need to be dewormed regularly. If the owner does not regularly deworm the kitten, it may lead to soft stools or even diarrhea. In this case, it is recommended that the owner collect the kitten's feces for microscope examination to determine if there are parasites inside. If there are parasite eggs, choose safe and effective deworming drugs to deworm the kitten and feed an appropriate amount of probiotics to regulate their stomach.

  1. Stress response

If a kitten is newly adopted, it may have stress reactions due to unsuitability to the new environment, which can cause disruptions in the gut microbiome and lead to soft stools. In this case, the owner needs to provide extra comfort to the kitten to stabilize its emotions and feed an appropriate amount of probiotics to regulate their stomach.
