Teddy's eyes are always squeezed shut

Teddy's eyes being unable to open may be due to external injury or foreign objects in the eyes, eye inflammation, or bacterial or viral infections. First, use a clean paper towel to wipe the surrounding area of Teddy's eyes with warm water. Then drop an appropriate amount of dog-specific eye drops into Teddy's eyes. Pay attention to Teddy's diet during feeding.

There are several reasons and solutions for Teddy's eyes being always squeezed shut:

  1. External injury or foreign objects in the eyes. Teddy may have fought with other animals and got scratched in the eyes, or solid foreign objects such as dust, hair, etc. entered the eyes. Irritating substances such as shampoo or pepper water also stimulate Teddy's eyes. Suggestions: Gently pry open Teddy's eyes to check for injuries, and use a soft towel dipped in warm water to gently wipe the surrounding area of Teddy's eyes. If the eyelashes or eyebrows are too long, immediate trimming is necessary.

  2. Heat stroke. This is related to Teddy's diet and lifestyle. If Teddy often eats spicy or high-salt foods, it can cause heat stroke. The eyes are prone to accumulate eyelashes, making it difficult to open. Suggestions: Use a clean paper towel to wipe Teddy's eyes with warm water or physiological saline. Feed Teddy low-fat and low-salt dog food. Do not add oil, salt, or other seasonings to homemade foods. Encourage Teddy to drink more water.

  3. Eye inflammation. If Teddy often plays in dirty places or comes into contact with animals carrying pathogens, it can lead to bacterial or viral infections, resulting in eye swelling and congestion. In addition to being unable to open their eyes, Teddy will also cry and secrete a large amount of purulent discharge. Suggestions: First, clean the purulent discharge around Teddy's eyes, then drop an appropriate amount of dog-specific eye drops into Teddy's eyes.
