What's going on with my dog's teeth grinding?
There are several reasons for a dog's teeth grinding:
Teething: If your dog is a puppy, they will go through a teething period between 3-6 months old. The itchy sensation caused by growing teeth may lead to teeth grinding.
Parasites: If your dog frequently grinds its teeth and it's been a long time since you've dewormed them, they might have parasites in their body. Parasites secrete toxins that stimulate the dog's nervous system, causing teeth grinding.
Indigestion: If your dog has indigestion due to eating before bedtime, they might grind their teeth while asleep. Adjust your dog's diet and feed them regularly and proportionally. Avoid feeding your dog before bedtime to prevent indigestion.
Anger: Some dogs will grind their teeth and even emit growls when they're angry. Consider if you've done anything to make your dog angry, and try offering their favorite snacks or toys as compensation.
