What to do if a small dog has anal bleeding
Anal bleeding in small dogs may be due to peripheral diseases such as anal sac rupture, which requires washing, disinfecting, and消炎 at a pet hospital. However, there is a unique aspect of female dogs during estrus, when they have menstruation. If the owner is not aware of this, they may be confused. This situation will disappear after the estrus ends and does not require treatment.
Cause of dog anal bleeding 1
Dog anal bleeding may be due to constipation. During defecation, the anal sphincter muscle contracts excessively, causing the anal peripheral membrane to tear, leading to blood in the stool. It may also be caused by swallowing sharp objects, such as glass, during a food fight, which leads to intestinal injuries and bloody stools. Another possibility is not timely deworming, resulting in excessive intestinal parasites, which can cause intestinal bleeding.
Cause of dog anal bleeding 2
There are many reasons for dog anal bleeding, such as bacterial infection of the intestine, infectious gastroenteritis, parvovirus, or foreign objects blocking the intestine, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, or dogs swallowing sharp objects that scratch the intestine. In this case, the dog should be taken to a pet hospital for inspection and treatment of hemorrhage and inflammation.
What to eat for dog anal bleeding
Taking medication may not be very effective for dog anal bleeding. If the bleeding is caused by acute gastroenteritis, taking antibiotics such as amoxicillin may have some effect. However, if the bleeding is caused by a bone scratching the intestine, surgery is required to remove the foreign object and stop the hemorrhage. For bleeding caused by infectious diseases, it is recommended to take the dog to the hospital for antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and hemostatic treatment.
