What to do if your cat doesn't like catnip
Not all cats like catnip, and some even have mild reactions or no interest in it. Catnip is a mild tranquilizer that relieves stress and tension in cats, making them feel relaxed and comfortable. It also helps them expel hairballs and promotes gastrointestinal digestion. However, catnip can make cats hyperactive, so it's best to use it in moderation.
For cats that don't like catnip, you can try offering them mimosa obtusifolia, which has a better taste and similar effects to catnip. Because of its properties, it can be made into various toys. While playing, cats can use it to chew and scratch. However, owners should be cautious to prevent the cat from getting injured by broken pieces of the plant.
If your cat doesn't like either catnip or mimosa obtusifolia, you can choose other toys. If you need to induce vomiting for hairballs, you can offer hay or hairball gel. To increase your cat's physical activity, find toys they love and play with them. Some cats enjoy playing with feather toys or fishing rod-shaped toys, while others prefer ball-shaped toys like sisal balls. Every cat has its personality and preferences, so choose toys that suit them.
