What to do if your dog has a lump in the urethra
A lump in a dog's urethra is usually caused by benign tissue hyperplasia, infection, or tumors. It is necessary to observe whether the daily urination is affected, and whether the lump is red, swollen, ulcerated, or even exudes purulent fluid. If such symptoms occur, it is recommended to undergo a skin examination to identify the source of infection. It is also necessary to check whether the lump is mobile, solid, or fluid-filled. In this case, a fine-needle aspiration cytology examination is suggested.
The lump can slide under the skin
This lump is usually caused by swollen lymph nodes under the skin, often due to the accumulation of local inflammation. Lymph node swelling usually does not heal spontaneously and requires external intervention, such as the use of anti-inflammatory drugs. If the swelling does not disappear after using anti-inflammatory drugs, it is necessary to pay attention to the possibility of lymph node tumors, and it is recommended to go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment in a timely manner.
Causes of tumors
There are several reasons for dogs to grow tumors. Genetic factors play a role in the occurrence of tumors, but they only increase the likelihood of tumors, and the occurrence of tumors is not always related to genetics. In daily life, a dog's diet and living environment can increase the possibility of tumors. It is advisable to let dogs exercise more and avoid eating rotten or expired food.
What to do about testicular lumps
It is possible that there is a lesion on the testicular foreskin, causing the formation of red spots and small lumps. If there are no obvious abnormalities, observation can be done first. However, if the lump appears with severe itching, redness, and swelling, and the dog always wants to lick it, treatment should be sought promptly. The likelihood of testicular cystitis is high. This is usually related to autoimmunity. In this case, control the dermatitis first, apply Kluber spray and Kluber gel, control the situation, and wear a neck collar to prevent licking and biting. After recovery, it is recommended to surgically remove the testicles. In severe cases, the testicles and scrotum should be removed together.
