Yellow foam in cat vomit

Yellow foam in cat vomit can be caused by long-term hunger, ingestion of foreign objects, hairball syndrome, gastritis, pancreatitis, and feline distemper, among others. It can be improved through general treatment, oral medication, and physical therapy. If the condition is severe, it is recommended that the owner take the cat to a pet hospital for treatment.

  1. Long-term hunger:

If a cat is deprived of food for a long time, it will experience hunger, which leads to an empty stomach and excessive stomach acid secretion, resulting in vomiting. The vomit will be light yellow in color, and it requires adjusting the diet and feeding the cat at fixed times.

  1. Ingestion of foreign objects:

If a cat eats something it shouldn't, such as plastic toys or metal, it can damage the gastrointestinal mucosa and cause excessive stomach acid secretion, leading to vomiting of yellow secretions. Treatment can be improved through gastric lavage under a doctor's guidance.

  1. Hairball syndrome:

Regular grooming of cats can cause fallen hair to enter the gastrointestinal tract, where it accumulates locally, affecting normal digestion and causing bloating and vomiting. The vomit will be yellow with foam, and the cat needs to be given a hair removal gel to improve the condition.

  1. Gastritis:

If a cat has gastritis, it will cause slow gastrointestinal peristalsis, affecting food elimination and leading to acid reflux and heartburn. The cat will also vomit yellow water and needs to take medication prescribed by a doctor to promote digestion and protect the gastric mucosa.

  1. Pancreatitis:

Mainly caused by infection, it promotes the secretion of bile in the body, and the color of the bile is yellow. If not treated in time, it may affect normal eating and cause excessive bile secretion. The cat needs to take antibiotics under a doctor's guidance.

  1. Feline distemper:

Also known as feline leukopenia and feline infectious enteritis, it is an acute disease that causes frequent vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration. The vomit is yellow or white, and the cat needs to take immune enhancers and antiviral drugs as prescribed by the doctor.

During the recovery period, cats can be fed with cat food or cat cans to supplement nutrients and strengthen their constitution, which is beneficial for disease recovery.
