Cat Suddenly Becomes Excited and Runs Wild

Cat suddenly becoming excited and running wild may be caused by the following reasons:

  1. Seeing prey: When a cat sees prey such as flying insects or mice, it will become excited and try to catch them. The cat's mood will return to normal after capturing the prey.

  2. Heat: During the heat, cats may feel uncomfortable and their mood may become more excited, accompanied by wild running. To resolve this, owners can provide a cat with a mate or arrange for a spay/neuter surgery to reduce the frequency of heat.

  3. Scared: When a cat is scared, it may suddenly become terrified and run wild. As cats are sensitive by nature, they may exhibit this behavior when scared or anxious. To calm the cat down, owners should provide emotional support and play with the cat.

  4. Exhaustion: Cats with abundant energy and a lively personality may easily become overexcited and run wild. Their condition will gradually improve after their energy is depleted.

  5. Parasites: If a cat has parasites on its skin, such as fleas or lice, it may feel itchy and try to scratch itself. This can lead to wild running to alleviate the discomfort. However, this method is not very effective in removing parasites. Consult a veterinarian for advice on using external parasite control products to kill the parasites on the skin.

In daily life, it's essential to keep the cat's skin clean and wash it frequently. This can effectively remove dirt and reduce the chances of developing skin diseases.

If the condition persists or worsens, even after treatment, it is recommended to take the cat to a reputable pet hospital for a thorough examination. Then, based on the examination results, follow the veterinarian's guidance for standardized treatment, which will help control the disease.
