Dog's Throat Inflammation

Dog's throat inflammation can be treated with Azithromycin, which should be used under the guidance of a doctor. Azithromycin has a good effect on dog throat inflammation and cough, but attention should be paid to the dosage of Azithromycin. Overdose may cause poisoning in dogs. The dosage of Azithromycin for dogs is 5-10mg/kg. If there is no improvement after taking it for 3 to 5 days, treatment at a pet hospital is necessary.

Causes of Throat Inflammation

The common cause of dog throat inflammation is bacterial infection in the dog's body. As the tonsil is an immune organ in dogs, it is the first to be affected, resulting in swollen and inflamed tonsils. When the throat is inflamed, timely treatment is necessary to avoid further exacerbating the inflammation or secondary bacterial infection, which can lead to suppurative tonsillitis.

Clinical manifestations of laryngitis

Clinically, the main features are severe cough, throat swelling, increased sensitivity of the throat, and pain. The primary causes of laryngitis include cold stimulation and inhaling harmful gases. Secondary laryngitis is caused by certain viruses or bacterial infections and adjacent tracheal inflammation. Acute laryngitis is mainly characterized by severe cough, initially dry cough, later turning into wet cough. The dog shows suffering, difficulty breathing, open mouth breathing, paroxysmal cough, and often vomits after coughing.
