How to bathe a Teddy dog and prevent colds
Bathing a dog in winter without special attention can easily lead to colds. Try to avoid bathing dogs when it's cold, and dry their fur immediately after bathing. If your dog has already caught a cold, do not bathe it, as bathing will worsen its condition, potentially leading to other serious diseases and even posing a threat to its life. Always pay attention to keeping your dog warm, minimize taking it outside in cold weather, supplement its nutrition by feeding dog罐头、health products等, and enhance its immunity.
How to prevent colds while bathing
Bathing without proper warmth can easily cause colds. Here are some points to consider:
- Lower the frequency of bathing and take your dog to a professional pet store for bathing.
- If bathing at home, ensure warmth by turning on warm lights or using a small sun lamp.
- Dry your dog's fur promptly after bathing.
- Encourage your dog to exercise regularly to strengthen its immune system.
Water temperature for bathing
The water temperature for dog bathing should be controlled between 35~43°C. In hot summer days, you can slightly lower the temperature to around 30°C. Pre-adjust the water temperature before bathing, and use a dog-specific shampoo to clean its fur and skin. You can also clean its ears with ear drops. Dry your dog with a dry towel immediately after washing to avoid catching a cold.
Bathing precautions
For young dogs or those newly adopted, avoid bathing them.
- Soak your dog's fur thoroughly, ensuring not to get water in its ears and nose.
- Use a dog shampoo, strictly avoiding human shampoo, as it can cause skin irritation and dandruff.
- Wash your dog evenly and rinse it clean.
- Ensure your dog is completely dry after bathing to prevent skin diseases.
