How to clean your Teddy dog's eyes
If your dog has a small amount of tear stains, you can use a cotton swab dipped in clean water to clean around the eyes. Be prepared with cotton swabs, eye drops, and non-irritating wet wipes. To do this, gently wipe around the eyes, removing any tear stains and tears. If your dog has severe tear stains, a lot of eye discharge, and red eyes, it's best to visit the vet to find out the cause. During cleaning, use some eye drops, first dropping them into the dog's eyes, then gently wiping around the eyes with a cotton swab to clean them.
Dog Eye Care Tips: Diet
Do not feed your dog foods containing garlic, onions, leeks, grapes, raisins, caffeine, cocoa products, or alcohol. Also, avoid giving your dog too much sugar, salt, and other seasonings. Regularly replace your dog's food and do not feed them spoiled food. Avoid feeding your dog fatty or watery foods, as these can cause your dog to develop tear stains or increase eye discharge.
Dog Eye Care Tips: Cleaning
It is recommended to clean around your dog's eyes 1-2 times a week. If there is dirt or hair in your dog's eyes, dropping some veterinary eye drops can help achieve a cleaning effect. Do not use cotton swabs or handkerchiefs to wipe your dog's eyes, as this can cause corneal injuries and severe consequences. When your dog's eyes are infected, it is advised to take them to a pet hospital for professional inspection and treatment.
Points to Note
If your dog's eyes are inflamed and you want to clean them at home, you should first take your dog to the vet for a checkup to determine if the inflammation is caused by bacteria, viruses, or other factors such as ingrown eyelashes. If you are unsure of the cause, do not randomly use medications at home, as the drugs required for inflammation caused by fungi, bacteria, or viruses are different. Using the wrong medications may exacerbate your dog's eye inflammation.
