How to Give Cat Deworming Tablets

There are several methods to give deworming tablets to cats, including direct feeding, induced feeding, and using a feeder. Cat owners can choose the appropriate method based on their cat's personality and habits. If the cat is not resistant to taking medicine and has a gentle personality, you can directly place the tablet into the cat's mouth and hold its mouth to prevent it from spitting out the medicine. If the cat strongly resist taking medicine, you can mix the tablet in food with a good taste or use a feeder, but be cautious when operating to avoid hurting the cat.

Generally, there are three methods to give cat deworming tablets:

  1. Direct Feeding

Firstly, if the cat is not resistant to taking medicine, you can place the drug in your hand and let the cat lick it, or break the cat's mouth, put the drug at the base of the tongue, and quickly hold its mouth, gently stroke the cat's throat to help it swallow.

  1. Induced Feeding

If the cat's medication is in granular form, the owner can grind the drug into a powder and mix it with the cat's favorite canned food or snacks. If the medication is in liquid form, you can add it directly to the cat's food.

  1. Using a Feeder

If the cat strongly resist taking medicine or the owner is afraid of being bitten by the cat's teeth during the feeding process, a feeder can be used to give the cat the medication.

The specific operation method is: first, pull back the feeder to secure the drug in the front card slot. Then, the owner needs to hold the cat firmly to prevent it from struggling, lift its head about 45 degrees, open the cat's mouth with your index finger and thumb, insert the feeder deep into the cat's mouth, and successfully make the cat swallow the deworming tablet. Be cautious when using the feeder to avoid inserting it into the trachea, otherwise, there is a risk of suffocation.
