How to judge if a cat has finished its heat

You can judge whether a cat has finished its heat by observing its mental state, appetite, behavior, and appearance. Cats usually enter their heat cycle between 6 months and 8 months of age. During this period, they may scream, urinate randomly, and continue to scream at night. The heat cycle can also cause hormonal changes in the cat's body, making them irritable and even affecting their normal eating and sleeping habits.

  1. Mental State

During the heat cycle, cats appear excited and active, and may show signs of anxiety. They may scream continuously during the day or night. After the heat cycle is over, the cat's mental state will become calm and quiet, returning to normal.

  1. Appetite

The heat cycle can affect a cat's normal eating habits, causing a lack of appetite or even refusing to eat. If the cat's appetite returns to normal, it indicates that the heat cycle has passed, which is a normal phenomenon.

  1. Behavior

Cats behave abnormally during their heat cycle, rolling around, rubbing against objects, and flirting. These behaviors attract male cats. If these behaviors return to normal, it means the heat cycle has ended.

  1. Appearance

If the cat is male, its penis may appear enlarged during the heat cycle. Female cats may show swollen genitalia or abnormal bleeding. After the heat cycle is over, these physical changes will return to normal.

After a cat's heat cycle is over, you should continue to observe its physical condition. If the cat appears lethargic and unwilling to eat, it may be suffering from a disease. It is recommended to take the cat to a regular veterinary hospital for treatment.
