How to kill insects at home without harming your cat

Since insecticides are harmful to cats, if the owner wants to kill insects at home, they should first isolate or directly remove the cat from the house to avoid the cat accidentally ingesting the insecticide and poisoning itself. Secondly, because the concentration of the insecticide is high right after spraying, long-term inhalation is also harmful, so the owner should timely open the windows for ventilation. Finally, after the insects are basically killed, the owner needs to clean up the bodies of the insects and disinfect the whole room, so as not to let the cat accidentally eat insects that have been sprayed to death by the insecticide.

  1. Isolate the cat

Due to the strong toxicity of insecticides, cats can suffer from poisoning, kidney failure, and liver damage if they inhale or lick the insecticide. Therefore, when the owner is preparing to kill insects, they can first isolate the cat and lock it in the balcony, toilet, or other rooms to prevent the cat from inhaling or licking the insecticide.

  1. Open the windows for ventilation

Before spraying the insecticide, the owner needs to open the windows for ventilation in advance. After spraying, the windows should be opened for 6-12 hours before allowing the cat to enter, otherwise, if the cat is allowed to enter immediately after spraying, it may also lead to poisoning.

  1. Disinfect the environment

To reduce the chance of the cat contracting parasites and skin diseases, the owner needs to disinfect the cat's living environment using pet-specific disinfectants after killing the insects, and regularly deworm the cat. This can not only effectively prevent some diseases but also promote the healthy growth of the cat.
