How to Make a Kitten Become Close to You

1. Raise the kitten from a young age

To make a kitten become close to you, it's best to raise it from a young age. By feeding and interacting with the kitten daily, it will gradually become familiar with its owner.

2. Increase Interaction with the Kitten

The owner can also foster a close relationship with the kitten by increasing its interaction.

First, due to the kitten's strong curiosity, the owner can use toys like cat fishing rods to play with the kitten, which can help it develop friendship faster.

Second, the owner can gently stroke the kitten's head or brush its fur, helping the kitten trust and depend on its owner.

Lastly, the owner can use snacks to enhance the bond with the kitten. Feed it some delicious food, such as various flavors of cans, freeze-dried meat, chicken strips, pet pudding, and nutritional paste. When the kitten comes to eat, call its name, stroke its head, and reduce the unfamiliarity.

3. Learn to Hold the Cat Correctly

If the owner holds the cat incorrectly, the cat will dislike being held if it feels uncomfortable.

First, do not pick up the kitten by its neck, as this can hurt it. The correct way is to place one hand under the kitten's front limbs, palm supporting its chest, and the other hand supporting its buttocks, holding the cat upright.

Second, do not force the kitten to be held when it doesn't want to. If the kitten extends its claws, gently put it down on the ground instead of throwing it. This will make the kitten feel your kindness and become closer to you.

Lastly, be aware of the cat's sensitive areas, such as the head, cheeks, ear roots, and chin. These areas are where the cat feels comfortable, so stroke them more often. Avoid touching the cat's belly, legs, and claws, which it doesn't like too much.
