How to properly clean cat poop
You can buy a cat-specific litter scoop at a pet store. There are generally three sizes available: small, medium, and large. Choose the size according to your cat's size. Use the scoop to pick up formed feces and urine from the litter box. The middle of the scoop has gaps, so after scooping up the waste, shake the scoop to drop off the extra litter. Be sure to handle it promptly, or bacteria will breed.
Why cats like to watch their owners clean up
Cats love to stick close to their owners, so they like to watch what their owners are doing. Cats are curious animals. When they see their owners doing something in their litter box, they are naturally curious and will go over to watch. Cats have a sense of territory, and they see the litter box as their own property. Therefore, when they see their owners cleaning up, they will follow along to watch.
Reasons to stop cleaning
There may be several reasons why cats stop their owners from cleaning:
- The cat is not familiar with the environment. Cats bury their feces to avoid being discovered by predators. When their owners clean the litter box, they may think their territory has been discovered and naturally try to stop them.
- The cat is simply curious about what their owner is doing or wants to play with them, so they put their paws on the scoop to attract their owner's attention.
Cat poop disposal methods
Usually, after scooping up the cat's feces from the litter, you can directly put it into a garbage bag and tie it tightly before throwing it away. It is generally not recommended to throw cat litter and feces into the toilet bowl, as this can easily cause sewer clogs and inconvenience yourself and your neighbors. However, there is one type of litter that can be flushed directly down the toilet –豆腐猫砂. This litter will expand when it absorbs water and is made of environmentally friendly materials, so it won't cause sewer clogs.
