How to Tell the Gender of a Kitten

The gender of a kitten can be determined by examining various factors such as eye color, body type, nipple size, the distance between the anus and genitalia, and the shape of the genital organs.

  1. Eye Color

To distinguish the gender of a kitten, you can look at their eye color. Generally, female cats have yellow eyes, while male cats have lighter yellow eyes.

  1. Body Type

You can also judge by observing the kitten's body type. Male cats tend to be taller and more robust, while female cats are more slender and compact.

  1. Nipple Size

Both male and female kittens have nipples, but female nipples are generally larger, while male nipples are smaller. You can observe the size of the nipples to determine the gender.

  1. Distance between Anus and Genitalia

Aside from the common methods mentioned above, you can also judge by observing the kitten's anus. The genitalia of female cats are usually closer to the anus, while male cats' genitalia are farther away.

  1. Shape of Genital Organs

Female cats have a simpler genital structure, consisting of only the anus and vagina, which resembles an inverted exclamation mark. Male cats have a genital organ composed of two testicles, which can be quickly identified to determine the gender.

If you still cannot determine the gender of the kitten after trying the above methods, you can bring the kitten to a reputable pet hospital and consult a doctor for accurate identification. In daily life, provide the kitten with a comfortable and warm living environment, and feed it a diet consisting of shrimp, fish, lean meat, and other foods rich in protein, fat, and dietary fiber, which are beneficial to the kitten's growth and development.
