Potty Training for Moonlit Puppies
Potty Training Moonlit Puppies, which is about training 30-day-old puppies to defecate and urinate at specific locations, can be challenging. This is because at this age, the puppies are still in the breastfeeding stage, and they urinate and defecate frequently. The activity range of moonlit puppies is small, and the dog bowl, bed, and defecation area are close to each other, which is not conducive to training. Moreover, the puppies at this stage barely understand their owners' words and can't even remember their names. It is better to start training when the puppies are 3 months old.
Challenges in Potty Training Moonlit Puppies
It is difficult to train moonlit puppies to defecate and urinate at specific locations. It is recommended to start training when the puppies are around 3 months old. At this stage, the puppies have completed their vaccinations and deworming treatments and can be raised indoors. Their activity range is larger than during the moonlit stage, which is more conducive to training. The puppies' brains and bodies have also developed significantly, and they can understand simple commands, such as their names, sitting, walking, and even shaking hands.
Potty Training Methods for Puppies:
Choose a designated defecation location in your home, such as a corner of the balcony or bathroom, preferably away from the dining room and bedroom of the owner, and as far away from the dog bed and bowl as possible. Once the location is selected, do not easily change it during the training process. Otherwise, it will cause memory confusion and hinder subsequent training.
Spread newspapers or pee pads at the designated location and rub some of the puppy's urine or feces on the pads.
Puppies usually need to defecate within 10 to 15 minutes before and after eating and when they wake up. Catch these three time points and take the puppy to the designated spot to defecate, lasting for about two weeks. Eventually, the puppy will remember the location.
If the puppy follows the command and defecates at the specified location during training, the owner should remember to reward the puppy.
