How to wean a cat
Weaning time
Usually, cats can start weaning at about one month or one and a half months old.
Replacing breast milk with goat's milk
During weaning, you can replace breast milk with goat's milk or milk formula for kittens. The formula needs to be soaked in warm water before feeding.
Gradually transitioning to softened kitten food
After two months, you can slowly switch to softened kitten food. Because kittens' digestive systems haven't fully developed, they can't eat dry food directly. Instead, soak the kitten food in warm water before feeding.
Vaccinations
After weaning, the kitten's immunity will decrease along with the decline of maternal antibodies. Therefore, it's best to start vaccination at two months old. Before vaccination, avoid bathing and outdoor activities.
Note
After weaning, the kitten's immunity will decrease, so it's important to pay attention to their health and nutrition. Consult a veterinarian if you have any concerns.
